Our Vision

I wanted to take the opportunity to write and express how impressed I was with the way your staff looked after us throughout our visit. The welcome and support we received from your team truly stood out, and I wanted to ensure their efforts were recognised. From the moment we arrived, Richard greeted us warmly and made sure we had everything we needed. His cheerful and friendly manner set a positive tone for the entire week. Your reception staff were equally welcoming, showing us to the staff room, explaining where everything was, and making it clear that we were welcome to help ourselves to refreshments. It may seem like a small gesture, but it made a real difference. It's not uncommon for visiting instructors to be left unsure about what facilities we can use. Over the three days we spent at St Mary's, every interaction we had with members of staff was positive. They were friendly, approachable, and accommodating throughout, and they are a real credit to both you and the school. I would also like to mention Mrs Marriott, who worked closely with us throughout the week. She handled every change and unexpected situation with professionalism and efficiency, and her organised, methodical approach made our job significantly easier. She was an absolute pleasure to work with. The kindness, professionalism, and hospitality shown by your staff made our visit an exceptionally enjoyable one.

Thanks to year 3 Artists for road testing our drawing sculpture workshop at the gallery. I’m sure Hepworth herself would be impressed with your drawings! I certainly was.

The children at St Mary’s are some of the most respectful and well behaved children I have worked with. It has been a pleasure to be here today to work with the whole school on our ‘Where the Wild Things Are’ dance workshop.

It’s always a pleasure to host the wonderful pupils from St Mary’s Primary School at Wakefield Cathedral. I’m always amazed by their knowledge, their politeness and the way they throw themselves wholeheartedly into the activities. The Y3 class, who came for today’s workshop, are a real credit to their school.

Hello year 2. I would like to say how enjoyable the recent visit was. You were very well behaved and interested in what we spoke to you about. It was great to see when you interacted with our questions and you answered them. You are a real credit to the school and your teacher. Thankyou so much for inviting us into St. Marys to deliver Aspirations. The children that were selected were truly amazing. They were all so polite, friendly, and cooperative. We both enjoyed every single week with them. We hope that the sessions have helped their confidence and self-esteem. Thankyou once again, they are ALL a credit to your school. It was a real pleasure to visit your school. Your staff were really welcoming and helpful. The children who participated in the journey with us were inquisitive and engaged very well with the theme; they were polite and respectful towards the staff and our volunteers.
