World Book Day
Year 3 enjoyed World Book day. We shared our favourite books explaining what they loved about them. As a class we looked at the author and illustrator Cressida Cowell who writes the How to Train your Dragon Series. We designed our own dragons and made Top Trumps cards. We also joined the Victoria and Albert Museum online lesson where we heard more about the author and her inspiration as well as loved the lesson she gave us on how to draw a character from our books.
Rivers
Year 3 have been working hard on their Rivers topic in geography. We have located Rivers in the UK and used a compass to find their location in the UK. We have also been looking closely at OS maps and Ariel maps of the River Calder and Aire to find our own grid references and record these. We are looking forward to our walk to the River Calder to draw own own sketch map.
Our Maths work on 3D shape
Year 3 have been learning about the properties of 3D shape. They used straws and play dough to create their own shapes deepening their understanding of faces, edges and vertices.
